Five-day Kindergarten

St Patrick’s Catholic School is excited to announce that we will be extending kindergarten across five days during term time in 2025.

Five-day kindergarten offers children a safe and consistent space in which to learn, and creates a sense of belonging. It provides children with more opportunities to learn and to engage in school activities. Our five-day kindergarten program will not only make the transition for children from kindergarten into prep easier, it will also set a strong foundation for their future learning.

This service will provide a boost to educational outcomes for young students and a helping hand to families.

We have seen how successful this program has been at other Catholic schools across the state, and we are confident that families in our School community will benefit greatly from having access to five-day kindergarten.

We look forward to welcoming our first five-day Kindergarten class in 2025.

Applications for the 2026 class will be open from February 2025.

What is the difference between child care and five-day kindergarten?

Children attending five-day kindergarten will have more regular exposure to informal and structured-learning opportunities, such as the development of oral language skills, pre-literacy and numeracy education, as well as play-based learning.

Five-day kindergarten can help to support the development of their social, mental and physical skills before they transition into the school environment.
